My kids love all Halloweens because they get lots of candy. I think my girls have like the last two the most because they were big enough to go with a group of friends around our block and get all the candy they could and go without parents tagging along. After the trip around the blog, there was the traditional "see what you got and trade" party on the floor. A must to insure that you get the most of what you like the best.

We love Halloween because we've gotten to go trick or treating every year since we've been married! My sister wasn't interested in taking her daughter (who is now 10) so we have taken her every year before we moved to ID. But last year we got to take our own daughter. She was a kitty last year and this year will either be "spider girl" a spin off of spider man or princess Belle (her g-ma made her a beautiful dress up dress that she could wear). I like the kids to wear costumes that are warm or that they can wear clothes under so they don't have to wear a coat to stay warm that ends up covering their costume.

Zander was a pirate last year. It was an easy & cheap costume to put together. I cut up an old bandana to fit his head & put one of my earrings through the bandana right above his ear. Then some black pants, a white shirt & a vest made him look like the real thing... just a mini version. My husband & I were pirates too & when we went to a local Halloween festival random people came up to take pictures of our little pirate family! It was fun.

I absolutely love Halloween, it's always been my favorite holiday - probably because my dad always made such a big deal out of it. When I was young, I would dress up and we would go out trick-or-treating or, if I wanted (and especially when I was older) we would stay home and pass out candy. I'm hoping to make lots of new traditions to pass on to Tristan for Halloween. Last year, my husband and I went to a local pumpkin patch to pick out a special pumpkin and then came home to carve it. We plan on doing the same with Tristan every year.

For his first Halloween, Tristan is going to be a big, fluffy duck. Ducks are his FAVORITE toy/animal and he just loves to look at his costume, so hopefully he'll love wearing it!
