I've turned to orajel when both of my boys were teething. They have been around for 40 years, so of course I feel like I can trust their products. Rowan is working on his eye teeth, which I think are the worst of them all. 3 of them have finally broken through, but we are still waiting for the last one. Orajel has a new teething gel out - cooling cucumber teething gel. I was anxious to give it a try and see if it gave Rowan and relief.
Pros: Orajel uses Benzocaine which is a local topical anesthetic. It works by blocking nerve signals in the body, thus creating the numbing feeling. Click here to learn more about Benzocaine. Orajel has that signature taste. If you've ever used orajel, you know what I am talking about. Both of my boys cringe when they use normal orajel, and with good reason. Although the product works well, it doesn't exactly taste good. This new cooling cucumber gel tastes so much better. It has a nice melon flavor, and tastes actually very good. (Yes, I would know because it was mommy tested :) ) Rowan actually opens his mouth when he sees it coming because he knows it tastes good. It's always nice to give your child medicine that they don't fight you on.
There is a suggestion to keep it in the refrigerator for extra cooling. I really like this suggestion because we all know that cold things feel good on sore gums.
The gel includes cucumber extract which also helps to soothe the gums.
I really think a little goes a long way too, which means you have to buy the product less often.
It is the #1 pediatrician recommended teething pain reliever because it allows your baby instant relief. It has really helped Rowan calm right down when he is having teething pain, which I love. It definitely works well.
Cons: Sometimes the consistency doesn't stay the same. I may squeeze the tube and get a gel out that is more firm, and then all of a sudden it seems to be straight liquid, which can sometimes make a mess. I notice the consistency is somewhat better when refrigerated. I'm also not hugely fond of having to cut the tip of the tube. The first time I bought orajel, I cut it way to far down, and the gel starting oozing out everywhere. I'm sure not to make that mistake now, and make sure I cut it towards the top. Just a tip for those using or wanting to buy orajel!
The Bottom Line: Wonderful new teething gel, great taste, works well.
Price: $5.99 for .33 ounces
Where to Buy: All major grocers and retailers. For a location near you, visit baby orajel.
Rating: Excellent

This would be great! Can you believe that I never used it with my first?? He did really well with teething...but I know many dont and now I have another on the way!
i used oragel on my kids years ago and now i would like this for a grandchild.it always seemed to ease the pain so they could eat and sleep.
My daughter is currently teething and we have not tried orajel. I think she could really use it though she seems so sore!
We used orajel with Belle in conjuction with tylenol. It made it nice during the night to put some on for instant relief, then give her tylenol for lasting relief. But now with the links between tylenol and asthma, we probably won't use tylenol as much with Sophie, so it's a good thing we still have orajel around! :) I hope I win!!
Sa-weet! maybe I'll actually win something this time :)
Gavin is teething right now so it would be perfect!
Gavin is 13 months and his 2nd tooth is just now starting to pop through. I need this!
Can you tell I want this?
You said I could enter as many times as I want.
I used the pink baby oragel before. Boy that stuff tastes nasty! no wonder Logan didn't like it. Maybe this cucumber stuff tastes better?
I haven't needed it yet but Our little guy only has 5 teeth.
love that it works fast and safe for the kids- wish they had a safe top that just bent off- I have squirted half the tube out by misholding and cutting when half asleep
it works fast is the best thing mverno@roadrunner.com
We love orajel because it helps to numb the pain for my daughter and calms her down for a little bit. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I have used the nightime orajel and I love it. my daughter could eat it she loves the taste. amsbolda@hotmail.com
I really love the numbing affect. amsbolda@hotmail.com
Thank you for a great giveaway! I love how it is almost instant relief for my little ones. Thank you

My baby grandson is teething; he was in a lot of pain-we used baby orajel on his gums, and he stopped crying immediately. Great stuff!
I am pregnant with my first due oct.
I have been using the nighttime oragel for Calvin. Once it kicks in, he relaxes right away...I love it!
I like that you can carry the tubes around with you anywhere you go because you never know when those teeth are going to push through and cause pain.
I haven't used orajel before and would like to try it with Jackson!
I used the teething tablets with Jordan and they didn't seem to work very well. Not sure why I didn't try this product!
Jordan didn't start getting teeth until he was a year old, but I'm guessing Jackson will get his sooner since he seems a lot bigger and more developed already at 5 weeks! I'll definitely be trying this stuff when that happens so I'd like to win! :)
I have used Orajel before I liek that they make a nightime formula.

I have put a pea size amount on a wash rag and it soothes my nephew.
FLY18GRL21(at)aol(dot)com
It even works to put it on the tip of the pacifier.

I used Orajel when my kids were babies now I am using it for my grandkids. It helps with my grandchilds discomfort but makes him drool like a monster.

This would be awesome. We're in teething hell right now, all four top incisors at once.
I have used the single use applicators before, but it seems like I can't get it all out and I'm not sure how much is really getting on her gums.
Benzocaine is the ingredient in most oral pain meds and I'm pretty sure the baby orajel contains the same strength as the adult orajel. I wonder if my husband would like the taste also. Being a man and all, he doesn't do well with pain and gets canker sores a lot.
And one more. I had my mil tell me that they never used orajel, they just used whiskey. Riiight. Don't think I'll be trying that.
I've never used orajel, but I'd love to try it on my son. Thanks for the giveaway!

The teething pain kept my son awake and fuzzy at night. I hope to find an effective way to soothe him.
Great :)

Gavin is having a rough day with teething.
Can't this giveaway be over so I can win it already?! :)
Tylenol is working for now, I was something more immediate.
I love to use Orajel on my teething little monster. I liek that their product is super fast acting.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
I also give my son a pacifier designed for teething to minimize his discomfort.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
My son also likes to chew on warm washclothes.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
I have seen some neat teething toys that are Organic Towels with Maple Wood Rings. I was thinking of purchasing one for my son.
I could dab a little Orajel on the ring for him.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
I love using Orajel on my son, but it also creates a little drooler. I will have to change his clothes a few times a day because his teething has him drooling a whole lot.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
So far my little guy has two bottom teeth that have come in. Oh boy, I have a whole lot more chompers to come in.
I could use some more Orajel.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
My granddaughter is just about to start teething - goodness knows she's drooling like a maniac! I'd love to have the baby orajel handy, ready as needed.
my fave feature is the easy to squirt tube
jceko77@yahoo.com
I love how it works instantly
jceko77@yahoo.comi
It seems 2 work fast most of the time

Great prize :)

I have never used Orajel before, but I have a cranky, drooling 5 1/2 month old little girl that I swear has started teething and this would be perfect to try out on her! I would be very grateful to be picked as a winner in this one!
My son is still a teethng drooler. TOday he is chewing on his bibs to ease his discomfort.
jesskaufman at hotmail dot com
I've never used Orajel before but would like to give it a try. Thanks.
partymix25(at)hotmail(dot)com
It seemed to help with my son but my daughter hated it anywhere near her! It does work if you can get it in their mouth!
mdhohn(at)msn(dot)com
Orajel rocks:)
I used orajel when the babies were kids. The look they give you when you first put it on them is priceless. Thank ou.
candieluster(at)gmail(dot)com
I haven't used oragel yet because my baby is young but she may start teething soon.
This weekend we were out and baby was drooling and fussing, and I mentioned that maybe she'll start teething soon. A more experienced mom said "have you tried Oragel? It works wonders!"
I'd love to win a tube so I have some on hand when we need it
Is there a lower age limit for its usage? My girl is 3 months.
This would be wonderful :)
ktgonyea at gmail.com
I have never used orajel before. After reading your review, I want to give it a try (anything to help teething along).
wordsmoveme(at)gmail(dot)com
My 2-year-old never had any problems with teething, she would just wake up and smile the next morning and we would see a new tooth sticking out! She was quite a drooler to start with and the only teething sign we saw was a little extra drool... so I never had to use any Orajel but I definitely know people that did.
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I didn't know there was cucumber Orajel, I was interested to learn that the cucumber extract helps cool and soothe painful irritated gums.
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
It's also smart that the gel is specially formulated to be placed in the refrigerator to provide additional cooling and soothing for baby's sore gums. Makes sense!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
My 4-month-old has been teething for a little while now and she is having more issues with it than my older daughter. She is constantly pulling at her mouth and chewing on her fingers and even if I try to give her things to chew on (toys, cold towels, etc) it doesn't seem to help her much. Lately it's been waking her up at night too, so I can't wait for it to pass!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
It's been difficult to give my 4-month-old things to chew on to ease her teething pain because she doesn't quite have the coordination to get them into her mouth. Maybe that's why babies typically get teeth closer to 6 months!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I've tried some teething tablets on my little girl but I'm not convinced that they help or work as instantly as Orajel so I would definitely love to try some! Plus, pushing the tablets in under her tongue to get them to dissolve is always a little dicey, particularly during the night.
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
So far it seems like my daughter's favorite thing to chew on is my finger when it's covered with her burp cloth. During the day this works fine, but I'd love to try the Orajel to ease her pain at night!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
One in 2,000 babies is born with milk teeth, which seems like it would be a really weird sight to see!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
Can you tell I would really love to win some Orajel? I just want some sleep!
I read that even though the teething process lasts about two years, after the first few teeth come in the process tends to be much less painful. So I just need to make it through these first teeth and then hopefully life will get easier around here!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
One more comment otta do it! I want this gel I want it!!
I think it's great that Orajel is gluten and casein free and doesn't contain any egg or dairy products. Although my daughter doesn't seem to have any allergies, some of my friends' children do and I'm sure it would be very disappointing if they weren't about to use medicine because of the ingredients.
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I searched the Orajel website looking to see how long the numbing lasts before it wears off and baby's gums start to hurt again but couldn't find any information. Hopefully long enough to get me some sleep! :)
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
i love how it works pretty quickly..i have used it on my own gums when i have a toothache :)
I've heard that some people don't use Orajel because it could get in the baby's mouth and throat and numb everything but does that mean that they just put too much in there? I'm still willing to give it a try!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I heard a story about a woman using Orajel on a bee sting because it numbed the area and stopped the child from hurting. Sounds like there are multiple uses for Orajel!
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
My son is only a month and a few days old, but when he starts cutting his teeth, I plan on using Baby Orajel.
I've never used it (first baby due in August) but orajel is on my registry!
I've read that often the final week before a tooth surfaces can be the most painful... can you tell that my daughter is nearing that final week? :)
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
My sister-in-law attributed all of my nephew's crabbiness to teething starting from when he was about 3 months old... but then he didn't actually get any teeth until at least 7 or 8 months and now she finally admits that he was just a crabby baby.
Thanks!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I think I'm about out of Orajel and teething things to talk about... I sure hope to hear that I get to benefit from Orajel's immediate soothing relief soon!
Thanks for the giveaway!
xpsundell(at)gmail(dot)com
I've never tried it before but I would like to. I have two twins teething now.. they each have 2 bottom teeth coming in.
My children have used it. It really works.
My so just lost another tooth.
It really helps when babies are fussy when teething.
I want to try some of the adult orajel products.
This would be a good gift for when the baby is teething.
Baby orajel has been a life saver for me.It was about the only thing that could help my little guy. I would a chance to win! : )
hottmomma_03(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love that it works almost instantly. I still use this my son it still teething. : )
